Rescue Me Atlanta

My new blog, Rescue Me Atlanta, is up and running! I’ve still got some work to do on it, but for the most part, it’s ready for visitors! I will no longer update this blog, but hope you will follow me on my new blog-o-sphere adventure! And of course, the beagle boys will be there!

Becoming Part of the Crew

Where’d the Weekend Go?

Our plan was to have our new blog ready to unveil today, but obviously that didn’t happen. The weekend seemed to fly by and I found little time to work on it. My goal is for this week. Thanks for your patience! It will be worth the wait!

One thing that did take my time this weekend that was TOTALLY worth ignoring my blog goal … was Mr. Wiggle-butt (aka: Colby at Atlanta Beagle Rescue)’s adoption! Colby is now a beloved member of a great family and has kids to play with every day! Couldn’t be happier for this sweet boy!

Congrats, Colby!

Still Working …

Yes, I am still working on my new website/blog-animal-rescue project, which hopefully will be revealed this weekend. I’m also working on teaching Finnegan about good doggie etiquette … actually, the Beagles are really doing the teaching … see:

I’m really amazed at how good this “unadoptable” boy is! He’s shy with strangers but doesn’t growl or snap. He did great when he met my friends at Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption and helped out at a fundraising event for Atlanta Beagle Rescue. Though when he met two other Chihuahuas this weekend, he seemed to not be too thrilled with the “little” crowd (although no bad behavior!). I really think that Finn believes that he is a Beagle trapped in a Chihuahua body!! ; )

Longer-than-Intended Hiatus

Sorry we’ve taken a longer hiatus from the blog than we intended! We’ve got some good things in the works for you, so stay tuned for our changes. Meanwhile, we have also been working on TRAINING! Refresher for the beagles and new basic skills for the Chihuahua, Finnegan!

Finn is very smart and doesn’t appear to have the stubbornness streak I’m so used to with the beagles! He’s still a good bit timid, but he’s trusting more and more of this big scary world. I’m so proud of him and the beagle boys, who have been sharing a little about confidence with this little blonde boy!

Finn has also become an official member of the Driveway Patrol … he added his voice to the beagles’ baying announcement of a visitor the other day, and I think even the beagles did a double-“was that YOU?!”-take!

The beagle boys are also teaching Finn the other essentials for being a pampered house pooch — laying on the couch is WAY better than laying on the floor, growling at the cats when they invade your personal space is acceptable as long as you don’t go beyond the growl, and sit = biscuit!

Weekend Plans

I’ll let the beagle boys tell you what our plans are for the weekend!

A King’s Throne

Springtime means pulling the deck cushions out of storage. Of course, the cushions didn’t get too far before Bailey decided to make himself comfortable. I didn’t have my video camera, but the process of Bailey getting on these two cushions in an ideal position was quite humorous. Dogs do entertain us, don’t they?!
