The beagle boys and I are happy to introduce the new member of our family … this time of the feline variety! This is Emma Kate (named in memory of my cousin Emma and her friend Kate who died when a car going too fast and driven by an intoxicated driver jumped the curb while the girls were walking home after a party in Ipswich, England).
Emma Kate was adopted from Gwinnett County Animal Control on July 2, 2010. She’s a super sweet tabby girl, only about 5 months old. Emma Kate is interested in everything, even the beagle boy Charlie who keeps barking at her, but she will stand up for herself if pushed into a corner. She loves attention and playing with her lighted ball and squeaky mouse.
Hopefully, the beagles (mostly Charlie) will adjust soon so we can all enjoy each other! (Actually Emma Kate is sitting on the bed with me right now while I type this and Charlie is walking around barking at her. Bailey is laying on the bed next to me not too interested in much of anything!)
PS — You may be wondering what happened to my foster beagle pup Summer! Well, don’t fear! She’s safe and sound at Atlanta Beagle Rescue president Morgan’s house. Morgan took Summer to arrange to get her spayed and while this was going on, a great family applied to adopt Summer. SO … although we might not get to have her back at my house, I’m so thankful for this happy ending! Best wishes to Summer and her new family!
